A Walk in Japan

In 2015, my friend Robert Blasiak published his English translation of A Walk in Japan — Bernhard Kellermann’s 1910 account (in German) of his travels in Meiji Era Japan. Robert invited me to contribute a selection of photos to accompany a preview of the book in Kyoto Journal Issue 79.

It turned out to be a great way to reconsider the photos I capture while walking (and pedaling and training) around Japan. This gallery is a changing collection of everyday scenes throughout the country.
